I have spotted a trend lately that people have started glorifying Failure as a precondition to success. This is more prevalent in the Startup ecosystem. There is a plethora of short posts in Social media like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn etc that seem to sell failure as a solution to young entrepreneurs. From demonizing failure to glorifying failure is a 360 degrees shift and to be frank – a dangerous trend!
It is one thing to encourage young people in any field to be proactive, make decisions and take initiative without the fear of failure, however, it is quite another thing to encourage them to fail projecting failure as a precondition to success. In the first case the emphasis is on taking action and learning in the process. But if you do not learn from failure and if you either repeat the same mistake or change the course, failure can leave lifetime damage to the self-confidence and self-respect of young people.
